Merriweddings is a husband and wife event photography team, Merri Cyr and Mark Walker.
Merri has worked as a commercial and fine art photographer for over 20 years in NYC and Mark joined her photographing weddings in 2008. With over 10 years working together photographing weddings as well as documenting over 600 events for Apple in NYC’s Soho and Williamsburg stores, Merri and Mark enjoy working as a team to ensure full coverage of any event. They have a candid, journalistic style - documenting events in an unobtrusive manner. They also enjoy taking the time to work with bride and groom to create beautiful portraits, giving direction when needed to help things go smoothly.
Recently relocating from lovely Greenpoint, Brooklyn to settle in the beautiful town of Westport, Massachusetts Merri and Mark work comfortably in both urban and rural environments and have considerable experience photographing events in NYC, Boston and Connecticut as well as destination weddings.

When you're researching professional photographers to capture your wedding memories, there's quite a range of services and prices. We feel so fortunate to have found Merri Cyr. Merri's also a rock and roll photographer, having many photos published in Rolling Stone and other industry publications as well as her own books. She has a rich and unique style that's truly iconic. She has two websites, one for her music business photograph and a separate site for her events/wedding photography.
When my wife and I started searching for photographers, we ignored price during the initial due diligence phase and just looked for a photographer whose style and sensibility was similar to ours. We were expecting Merri to be on the high side in terms of price because of her obvious talent and experience. Turns out, an added bonus is that her services don't break the bank and are quite reasonable for the high quality product she delivers.
Merri and the second photographer who accompanied her (and he was a talented photographer in his own right), were unobtrusive, professional, and truly captured the feel of our wedding day. It's rare to say this in life, but we couldn't have been more pleased.
In addition to the digital and 4x6 proofs, we worked with Merri on three albums for family members. The albums are stunning.

During our 3-month engagement period, my then-fiancé-now-husband and I scrolled through numerous portfolios. Wedding industry is a world of its own, and in the realm of photography, certain formulaic themes start to emerge as you scroll through the images. We wanted to find a professional photographer who can tastefully go off the beaten path a bit. We came across Merri's work with musicians, and were struck by the edgy beauty and artistry. (I'm a classically trained musician, and her artist portraits are what initially caught my attention.) While we weren't quite sure how that would translate in the highly prescriptive and vanilla world of wedding, our engagement photoshoot with Merri quelled any uncertainty we had. She captures emotions, light, and action beautifully. The subjects' poses may leave much to be desired, but her work somehow yields natural and intimate images - whether taken in portraiture or photojournalistic style. On our wedding day, both Merri and Mark, her second photographer, were joy to work/be with. After the celebratory dusts settle, images are what remain. That, and love and bills. Merri Cyr Photography is an excellent bet for your wedding. I was impressed with everything. We met once to discuss my requests and then again at the event. Merri was more than prompt--she arrived early and was flexible when plans didn't go as I thought they would (had to start off in our hotel instead of my venue due to another event ending later than scheduled).
The photos were just beautiful. I had asked for attention to detail and nothing too posed--I definitely got that! When I checked in with Merri the week of my wedding, she emailed back the same day. She is very responsive. The value is one of the best around from my research.

Merri is great to work with! Not only is she professional and takes beautiful wedding shots, but she also goes beyond the call of duty.
